Undergraduates
All full-time Boston College undergraduate students are eligible for Campus Recreation access by completing the Campus Recreation Agreement. Here's how to sign up:

Important Notes:
- Immediate Access: The agreement is processed overnight. If you wish to use the facilities on the same day you sign, please show proof of agreement completion at the Control Desk.

Exceptions:
Part-time undergraduates, exchange students, and Woods College undergraduates are not covered by the standard agreement and must purchase a membership. See the "Graduate, Woods College, Exchange, and Part-Time Students" section for details.
Recent Graduates

Faculty and staff at Boston College can purchase a membership by presenting a valid Boston College Eagle-One ID card, which can be obtained from Lyons Hall. Payroll Deduction Memberships for Faculty and Staff at Boston College
Eligibility and Enrollment:
- Eligibility: Full-time faculty and staff are traditionally eligible for payroll deduction memberships. This convenient method allows the membership cost to be deducted directly from your salary. To check your eligibility or for more information, please contact Member Services at campusrec@bc.edu or call 617-552-0797.
- Enrollment Requirement: Enrollment must be completed in person at the Member Services desk. All members are required to sign a waiver during the enrollment process.
Deduction Details:
- Nature of Deduction: Payroll deductions are automatically recurring and cannot be adjusted outside the designated opt-out period.
- Initial Payment: Depending on when you enroll, your initial payment may include an additional month's fees, payable upfront via credit card. The payroll deduction then starts the following month or the second subsequent month, based on the date of enrollment:
- Enrolling On/Before the 15th: Pay a prorated amount for the current month upfront. Payroll deductions begin the following month.
- Enrolling After the 16th: Pay for the remainder of the current month and the entire next month upfront. Deductions start in the second subsequent month.
- Opt-Out Period: From April 16th to May 15th at 5 PM each year, members can opt out by filling out a cancellation form. Adjustments or cancellation requests outside this period follow standard policies and may not qualify for payroll deduction cancellation.

Health Insurance Fitness Reimbursement Overview
What is Fitness Reimbursement? Fitness reimbursements are payments made by health insurance providers to cover part of the costs for health and fitness services. Eligible expenses often include gym memberships, personal training sessions, and sports classes.
Campus Recreation Eligibility:Boston College's Campus Recreation is recognized as a qualifying fitness service provider, making members eligible for fitness reimbursement through their health insurance providers, subject to specific terms set by each provider.
Reimbursement Details:
- Amount: The typical maximum reimbursement is up to $150, but the exact amount depends on your health insurance provider.
- Membership Duration: Providers usually require at least four consecutive months of membership for eligibility.
- Provider Discretion: The decision to reimburse and the amount reimbursed are determined solely by your health insurance provider. Not all providers offer fitness reimbursements.

Day use lockers are available throughout the Connell Center for use. Please follow directions posted on each locker to operate the locks.

All lockers are issued on a first come, first served basis. All lockers must be cleaned out by the expiration dates communicated to members via email, website, and signage around the facility or items will be donated to charity. If you cannot make it in to clean out your locker by the clean out date, contact Member Services in advance at 617-552-0797 to request alternate date to pick up your belongings.
Towel Service
With the purchase of towel service, you will always have a clean, fresh towel waiting for you at theEquipment Desk. Just pick up one towel at a time and drop it back at the Equipment Desk for laundering when you are done using it.

Yes, spouses can purchase a membership by visiting the Office of Student Services to verify their marital status and obtain a "Spouse" ID card. This enables them to access our facilities at the same rates as students or faculty and staff, along with additional services like locker and towel services, though access hours are restricted.

Where is Member Services located?
Member Services is located inside the Margot Connell Recreation Center. Once you enter, it is the desk area to the left of the front desk.
What are Member Services hours?
The Member Services academic year office hours can be found on this page. Hours are subject to change and are abbreviated during University holidays or breaks.
I have a BC ID, but I am not a member. Can I access the building?
Individuals with a valid BC ID can purchase memberships ranging from day passes to annual memberships, depending on the time of year.
I have an active BC ID, may I bring in guests?
Yes, members are allowed up to three guests per day, and the guest passes are only eligible on the date of purchase (not 24 hours from purchase time). For more information, please see the "Guest Passes" section.
If I've lost or forgotten my ID can I still access the facility?
Everyone entering the Margot Connell Recreation Center must show a valid BC Eagle ID.
Can my child use the facility if I am not here?
Any youth (under 18 years of age) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times while in the facility. Please see our rules & policies for more information regarding youth access. See the “Guest Passes” section for any policies related to guest ages.
Can I purchase a membership for the pool only?
No, only full access memberships are available.
Do you supply towels?
Yes, towel service is available to all of our members for a fee. If you purchase towel service, you may check out up to two towels from our Equipment Desk. Once you are done using the towel, it should be dropped back at the Equipment Desk for laundering. If you do not have the service, you may rent a towel for $2 per day.
Are lockers available?
Complimentary day use lockers are available throughout the facility, and locks are available for rent at the Equipment Desk (free of charge) for use in the locker rooms. All complimentary lockers are to be emptied before the facility closes, and rented locks are to be returned to the Equipment Desk, or a fee may be incurred. Paid locker service is available (while supplies last), which allows our members to keep their belongings locked overnight in the locker room(s). Any non-Campus Recreation lock will be cut and contents of the locker will be brought to the lost and found. All locks must be issued via Campus Recreation.
Do I have to stay with my guest in the building?
Yes, you do need to be in the facility with your guest, but depending on their age, the requirements change (see "Guest Passes" section for more info).
Can I have payments taken out of my paycheck?
Faculty and staff can enroll for membership using payroll deduction by bringing your BC ID to Member Services anytime throughout the year. For details on payment, see the “Faculty & Staff” section.

Cancellation Policy:Visit our cancellation & refund policies page for details as per Massachusetts General Law.
Opt-Out Period:Members with Payroll Deduction memberships can opt out annually by filling out the form between April 16th and May 15th at 5pm. Requests that are submitted outside the opt-out period are subject to our standard cancellation & refund policies and may not be eligible for Payroll Deduction cancellation.
Folks who do not fill out the cancellation/refund form identifying that they want a change made to their payroll deduction membership will beauto-enrolled for FY25, and their membership will run through 5/31/2025.
Adjustments:Any changes to your deductions, like adding services, can only be made during the opt-out period. A form will be sent out prior to the opt-out period to make these adjustments
Example:For additions like towel service outside the opt-out period, you can either pay upfront via credit card or wait until the next opt-out period to include it in your payroll deduction starting June 1st.

- Spouses must visit the Office of Student Services and show proof of marriage to obtain a "Spouse" ID card andbe eligible for membership
- Upon obtaining the ID card, it may take a few hours for the spousal account to update in Campus Recreation'ssystem
- Membership Pricing (you can use the boxes from the "Students" and "Faculty & Staff" sections
- Spouse of STUDENT (same rates as Students)
- Spouse of FACULTY/STAFF (same rates as Fac/Staff)
- Spouses are eligible for locker service (if available) and towel service
- Spouses also do have restricted hours, so they canenterthe facility between the hours listed below:
- Sunday: 9am - 3pm
- Monday - Friday: 6am - 3pm
- Saturday: 9am - closing
